Nawalpur, 21st November 2025
Jagriti Child and Youth Concern Nepal (Jcycn) successfully organized its Social Audit, 21st
Annual General Meeting and Assembly at the Girls’ Learning Centre (GLC), Devchuli-10,
Nawalpur, Gandaki Province.
The gathering brought altogether 63 people including 33 Female & 30 Male who were the
members, advisors, local stakeholders including Deputy Mayors of Devchuli, Kawasoti, and
Madhyabindu Municipality, Ward Chairpersons from respective municipalities, representatives
from women, children & senior citizen depart, health depart, education depart, police, CSOs
leaders, teachers, child rights activists, peer educators, FCHVs, youth leaders, and community
representatives to review the organization’s progress and chart the way forward.This year’s event
holds special significance as Jcycn celebrates its 21st Anniversary, marking over two decades of
impactful contributions to child rights, youth empowerment, gender equality, peacebuilding, and
community development.
Since its establishment in 2001 and formal registration in 2004, rooted in the long-standing
commitment of “Uplifting Human Dignity Since 1992”, Jcycn has evolved into one of Nepal’s
respected and trusted civil society organizations. Over the years, it has consistently worked to
protect rights, amplify community voices, and foster an environment where children, youth, and
girls can thrive.
Guided by its vision of “a peaceful, democratic, and just society with respect for human dignity,”
Jcycn champions participatory development and inclusive governance. Its mission centers on
promoting an accountable, people-driven society where individuals are informed, engaged, and
empowered.

At its core, the organization strives to enable meaningful participation of people in all spheres of
society and state affairs, ensuring that every individual especially children, adolescents, and young
people has the opportunity to contribute to social transformation and national progress.
Hosted by General Secretary, Mr. Deepak Sharma, the event was formally inaugurated by the
Chief Guest, Deputy Mayor of Devchuli Municipality, Parbata Tiwari. The program began with
welcome remarks and a brief reflection on the history and journey of Jcycn, delivered by the
President, Mr. Tilottam Paudel.

A major highlight of the program was the Social Audit, led by independent Social Auditor Ms. Gita Adhikari, who transparently reviewed the organization’s annual progress, achievements,financial accountability, and program outcomes. Her facilitation created an open platform for stakeholders to provide feedback, validate the organization’s reported achievements, and offer
recommendations to strengthen future initiatives.
The 21st Annual General Meeting endorsed strategic plans, reviewed annual reports, and discussed
organizational development, policy enhancement, and long-term sustainability. The event also
emphasized Jcycn’s expanding efforts in education, empowerment, climate resilience, child
protection, and youth leadership.
The program also featured reflections and commitments from representatives of various sectors,
illustrating the broad impact and trust Jcycn has built over the years.
Speaking on behalf of the peer educators, Ms. Sajina Adhikari from Madhyabindu Municipality
expressed her gratitude to Jcycn for “creating opportunities for girls and empowering them,”
acknowledging how the organization has widened pathways for adolescent girls to lead and learn.
Representing the collective voice of child clubs across the district, Mr. Pritam Karki, President of
Jagriti Child Club Nepal, emphasized the need for broader inclusion by requesting the organization
to further involve adolescent boys in its programs.
Mr. Navraj Ghimire, Principal of Kalika Secondary School, expressed his appreciation, stating:
“Thank you for empowering our daughters. I also acknowledge and grateful to Jcycn’s support
for the mid-day meal program up to grade 8, as well as the overall NutriLearn initiative, which
has greatly benefited our students.”Child-Friendly Counselors of Devchuli Municipality
highlighted Jcycn’s growing national relevance.
Mr. Khimananda Bhusal stated that “Jcycn is a well-established and renowned organization in
this sector.”
Similarly, Mr. Narayan Prasad Poudel noted, “Jcycn has become an organization that the nation
needs and looks for. Being founded in Devchuli, it is a matter of pride that our locality is
represented nationally and internationally through its work.”

From the local government, Ward Chairperson of Devchuli-10, Mr. Repti Kumar Gharti, expressed
strong collaboration, saying,
“We feel honored to partner with Jcycn. The ward has been supporting the construction of the
Girls’ Learning Centre (GLC), and together we are working to promote this area as a touristic
destination. The municipality has allocated budget for the GLC. Overall, the local government
has been contributing in every possible way.”
Deputy Mayor of Kawasoti Municipality, Ms. Phul Kumari Thanet, emphasized priority issues of
Kawasoti, stating the need to expand awareness among farmers and welcoming Jcycn to
collaborate with the municipality in promoting chemical-free farming. She also highlighted critical
social concerns such as drug abuse and violence against girls and women.
Concluding the series of remarks, Deputy Mayor of Devchuli Municipality and Chief Guest, Ms.
Parbata Tiwari, shared her reflections, stating that “We have witnessed the growth of Jcycn since the very beginning, and we are proud to be part of its 21st Annual General Meeting and Assembly. Jcycn has significantly contributed to helping Devchuli declare Child-Friendly Local Governance and continues to support us through initiatives such as the Girls’ Empowerment Program, NutriLearn, and the Education Motivation through Income Generation Program. We are grateful to Jcycn and Kanallan for their dedicated efforts, and I extend my best wishes to the newly elected leadership team.” In his concluding remarks, President Tilottam Paudel expressed profound gratitude to allstakeholders for their constructive feedback and continued trust in Jcycn’s mission. He reaffirmed the organization’s commitment to integrating the suggestions and recommendations shared during
the program to further strengthen transparency, accountability, and impact. Emphasizing the longterm significance of the Girls’ Learning Centre (GLC) as a learning & resource hub for girls, youth,
and the community, he outlined Jcycn’s vision to operate the GLC through a sustainable,
community-driven model.
President Paudel called upon the Devchuli, Kawasoti, and Madhyabindu Municipalities to join
hands in completing the construction and ensuring the GLC’s continued success as a model
learning space for generations to come. He noted that Jcycn’s 21-year journey stands as a testament
to collective effort and that the next chapter will be built with even stronger collaboration,
inclusiveness, and hope. Jcycn also expressed deep gratitude to its partners, supporters,
government agencies, and communities for standing alongside the organization throughout its 21-
year journey. In his remarks, President Paudel expressed heartfelt condolences to those who lost

their lives during the recent Gen-Z protest, reaffirming the organization’s commitment to human
dignity and community well-being.
Bringing the event to a meaningful closing, the Assembly formally announced the newly elected
13 Member Working Committee, entrusted with steering Jcycn’s mission and leadership for the
next three years:

Additionally, the organization also announced the committees, including, an 11-member
Advisory Committee, a 7-member Child and Youth Advisory Committee, and a 3-member
Accounts Committee. The Assembly also approved the organization’s policies and programs
for the upcoming year and expressed sincere gratitude to all partners and supporters.
With renewed energy and a strengthened leadership team, Jcycn steps into its 22nd year with a
deeper commitment to advancing human dignity, empowering communities, and fostering a
more just, inclusive, and participatory society across Nepal.
